Wise Mother

Celebrating Motherhood. Your child, whether you give birth or adopt, has chosen you as its Mother and your family as the catalyst to learn the lessons it needs to learn in this incarnation. The soul of the baby may be a young soul or an old soul. You will be helping this child to remember what he or she already knows and guiding it to grow in a beauty way. You will not only be your child's teacher, but he or she will be yours as you have also written this child into your Book of Life.

Allow your Sisters to honor and support you in your new relationship. Consider a "Wise Mother" Ceremony in place of a traditional Baby Shower, or in conjunction with one.

*This ceremony may be held beginning with the 5th month of pregnancy on, or soon after the baby is born or adopted.

Baby Naming Ceremony

In this ceremony the baby receives a medicine name. May times this ceremony is combined with the Wise Mother Ceremony. What better start could you give your child than to help it align with the elements and worlds of Grandmother Earth in a Sacred Ceremony. The DanceChief will channel for the child's name and if accepted, the baby will be blessed and the name give away to the four directions officially presenting it to Universe as a Sacred Human.

*This ceremony can be combined with a Wise Mother Ceremony.

Becoming Woman

Let's give our daughters the beginning that most of us never had - a rite of passage that honors her womanhood. A girls first menstruation marks the time when she begins to become a woman. Her body is changing and this may be scary, even if parents have tried to prepare for these signs. Nature causes hormones emotions to run rampant during these years and there is nothing that parents can do to suppress this. She will be receiving all kinds of peer pressure from both sexes. The desire to be liked, fit in, and conform can be overwhelming. What kinds of choices will be made? This ceremony is an initiation into becoming a woman that is empowered with self-love and does not look for acceptance and approval from outside herself. It will impress upon her that her body is sacred and that she has complete choice as to how to utilize her sensuality and sexuality. She should not be pressured into doing anything she is not ready for. She will have the chance to get answers to many questions that she may not have been able to ask those close to her.

Woman of Self

There are many occasions when this ceremony is appropriate. One of the first times it was done was for a Sister whose children were leaving home and she realized this was now her time in life. But, somehow the empty nest was creating feelings that her life had less meaning. She needed to cut from her children to give them the freedom they deserved, but she knew she would always be their mother. As her Sisters sat in the Medicine Wheel circle, she was sent prayers thanking her for being a wonderful mother. Then prayers were sent in additional rounds, reminding her of the powerful energy of the directions and how that energy could help her birth new and wonderful things in her life. She had ended one cycle in her life and left being able to honor that and  know her life was only going to get better. The rest of the story is that her son was offered an excellent job two days later.

On another occasion, this ceremony was done for a young alcoholic who was having trouble finding her sobriety. After the ceremony, she joined a 12-Step program and today has been sober for many years. She gives credit to her Sisters for helping her take her power and turn her life around.

Woman of Power

This ceremony is done at either pre- or post-menopause. With the constant barrage from the media about youth, beauty, and sex many women going through menopause feel they have lost their femininity or even feel they are no longer women. This same feeling may possess women who have had or are going to have hysterectomies.

Your Sisters will share insights from ancient Grandmother Societies who knew of the wisdom and beauty that this time of life would bring. There were many reasons why Native American men feared the power of a woman during her moon time. Now that this cycle is ending the power doesn't just spike for three or four days during a month, but it is more even and flows constantly through our lives.

Allow us to help you find the mystery and magick that is held deep inside your womb space. Leave as a "Woman of Power."

Celebration of Love

Ending relationships and moving on in beauty. Everyone comes into our lives for a reason. Some relationships may be long and some short. Ending relationships can be devastating. You were a happy twosome and now you are one again. Who are you without the other person? A part of you is missing. How can you become whole again? If you were the person who initiated the split, you may be experiencing devastating guilt, even though you know the breakup was best for both of you.

In the "Celebration of Love" Ceremony you will identify the beauty amongst the negative, so that you gain closure and grow from the experience, learning the lessons you were meant to discover and healing in the process.

*This ceremony can be done when any relationship ends. It might be the loss or death of friends or family members.

Red Hot Mama

Join with your Sisters for a raucous, fun-filled celebration of five decades of becoming the wonderful woman you are. No matter what we were taught by our mothers, or how we've been brainwashed by the media, this is not the beginning of the end but a time to truly come into our own power. Allow your Sisters to help you write an empowering Dharmic life story that will take you into the next thirty or forty years (fifty?).

Partners with Identity Ceremony

Instead of a Bridal Shower, consider a Partners with Identity Celebration. Appropriate for Pre-Bonding or Marriage. Many women hesitate in committing to someone they love for fear of losing their identity. The western ideology of marriage, of becoming "one" with another, can strike fear deep in the heart of any woman who has worked for autonomy in her life.

In this celebration, the Sister will realize she never has to lose herself. With both partners retaining their identity it will co-empower their relationship, giving it the strength and endurance to last a lifetime.

Honoring the Chaotic Journey

Have you ever heard the expression, "If you don't learn the lessons, you get to do them over and they get harder and harder?" Native Elders have always known that our life moves in circles, just as the Earth and the Seasons. As we spiral through life, we are influenced by the energies of the Universe. Every three years we have completed one movement and go through what is called a Chaotic Journey as we prepare to move ahead. During this Chaotic Journey, we are presented with unlimited possibilities to help is plan our next cycle. This chaos is not a time to fear, but a magickal period if you are prepared to catch minimal chance (be at the right place at the right time to manifest your dreams).

This ceremony can be done every 3 years on your 9th, 12th, 15th, 18th, 21st, 24th, 30th, 33rd, 36th, 39th, 42nd, 45th, 48th, 51st, 57th, 60th, 63rd, 66th, 69th, 72nd, 75th, 78th, etc. birthdays. See the Four Moon Cycles Diagram for a better understanding of the ceremonies.

In preparation for this ceremony, your DanceChief will walk you through a fascinating exercise where you will identify the patterns in your life. As a Sacred Human you are a determiner of how you live your life. There is no reason to repeat the self-sabotaging patterns once you have them identified. Let your Sisters help you honor the cycles in your life. Click the Four Moon Cycles button at the top to see the complete diagram.

Dream Weaver, Knowledge Weaver,
Wisdom Keeper and Vision Keeper

Every twenty-seven years we have completed a full moon cycle. The normal Chaotic Journey that is experienced before moving to the next small cycle (see Honoring the Chaotic Journey above) is followed by a three-year planning period for the next twenty-seven years. This happens at age 27, 54, 81, and 108. During these ceremonies, your DanceChief will impart even more teachings from the Elders in how you can write an even more empowering Dharmic Life Story.

Custom Ceremonies

How Much Does It Cost?

No woman will ever be turned away for lack of funds. A donation may be asked to cover expenses. If you are a Ceremonialist, you may be asked to sit on other Sisters' circles in the future. Also, the Ceremonialist will be asked to present a Medicine Gift to each of the Sisters who participate and sit on her circle. A Medicine Gift is a token to appreciation, accompanied by tobacco of some sort. The tobacco is what seals the intent of the ceremony, and is not necessarily to be smoked. The DanceChief for your ceremony will help you in any way she can. Please ask her.
