Phyllis Playful Autumn Wind, has experienced and lives the ancient wisdom of indigenous peoples. * In ancient times shamans or medicine men/women traveled long distances (even from South to North America or over seas) to study and work with other shamans. They spent years learning new traditions and techniques of healing and imparting their own knowledge. Then they would return to their own people to share what they had learned. Hair has always in most all traditions, been a symbol of knowledge, so these shamans were considered Twisted Hairs as they braided their own knowledge with that of others.
